Residents of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge have until this Sunday to register their interest in a free retrofit assessment. Fully funded by Burnham & Weston Energy as part of our home energy efficiency project.

What is retrofitting? Retrofit involves making upgrades to your home to help it use less energy. These improvements can range from small, simple fixes like installing draught-proofing strips around your front door to larger upgrades, such as external wall insulation or a new energy-efficient heating system.

Why get a retrofit assessment?

  • Evaluate energy performance: Identify areas where improvements can make a real difference.
  • Clear action plan: A tailored roadmap outlining the best energy-saving measures, when to implement them and expected savings.
  • Personalised advice: Expert recommendations to make your home warmer, greener and more affordable to run in the long-term—perfect for homeowners planning renovations and landlords needing to meet energy efficiency standards!

How to apply for a free retrofit assessment

To be eligible, residents simply need to register via Fairer Warmth online. This app offers personalised energy-saving tips, highlights available grants and presents tailored retrofit options along with their potential savings – all tailored to you and your home!

Burnham and Weston Energy will select 10 homes from app registrants to receive professional retrofit assessments conducted by the Building Energy Experts. The selected homes will represent a range of property types, helping us to create practical retrofit roadmaps that other local homeowners can follow.

If you’ve already signed up to the Fairer Warmth app, simply add a retrofit assessment to your plan to be in the running for one of 10 free assessments.

The deadline to register is Sunday, 16th March 2025. Successful applicants will be notified by the end of March.
