Together with the University of Exeter’s Green Futures Network Burnham & Weston Energy is delivering this, the second of two, online events for local community organisations, businesses, policy makers and interested individuals.
COP26: what does this mean for North Somerset?
In collaboration with North Somerset Council, we will look at the trends that emerge from the conference and the impact they have on how we work together in the area. Crucially, we will also explore what learnings from COP26 we can implement in our strategies now. We hope this will play an important role in helping achieve our local 2030 carbon neutral ambition and support local organisations delivering projects aimed at improving the environment and people’s quality of life.

With your input, we will also discuss:

- Opportunities and funding shortfalls for local projects
- Local climate adaptation impacts
Who should attend?
This event is designed to bring together those keen to work with others and make a difference locally. We welcome policy makers and officers, public and private sector organisations of all sizes, community organisations and conscious citizens.
We hope it will help raise the profile of what is happening locally already and provide a discussion through which organisations can identify emerging opportunities that milestones like COP26 offer.
For Burnham & Weston Energy, it is also an opportunity to explore how we can better support local net zero strategies and climate change action. This is particularly important as we look to launch the next round of grants available through our community benefit fund.
